OGA BLOGS

To give you an insider's look at what's going on in the region we have created a number of OGA blogs. All of our blogs support RSS (Real Simple Syndication) so you can subscribe and see the latest posts whenever they occur.  You'll find a Subscribe to RSS link on each of the blog pages.

Outside Agency is where Craig Winter, OGA Manager of Rules Education, will discuss rulings made at our championships, provide insight on the Decisions on the Rules of Golf, and interject commentary when controversial rulings take place on any of the tours.

Preferred Lies is where Kelly Neely, Sr. Director of Handicapping & Course Rating, will provide insight into common issues based on the calls she receives from Golf Professionals, Handicap Chairs, and golfers when it comes to understanding and implementing the rules of the USGA Handicap System.

Transition Zone is from our new Manager of Handicapping & Course Rating, Gretchen Yoder, where for the first time we will try help all golfers understand one of the most unknown and misunderstood realms of golf...Course and Slope Rating!

Inside the Ropes will come primarily from Brent Whittaker, OGA Director of Tournament Operations.  In this blog he'll provide insight on how courses are marked for championships, we'll explore some of the interesting things we encounter at events, and more!

the FUNdamentals is our Junior Golf blog from Charlotte Plank, OGA Director of Junior Golf.  Here we'll try to provide articles and information to help junior golfers grow and enjoy this game we all love.
